SYAMA is committed to the growth of traditional Indian arts (music and dance) among Singapore youth. SYAMA produces quality performances based on Indian Classical Music and Dance (Carnatic Music and Bharatanatyam), by the youth.
SYAMA is focussed on producing quality music and dance concerts/performances. Some of our popular presentations include Aarohanam '06 and '08, Aarohanam'07 and Different Strokes in 2007, Aarohanam'08, Prahlad- The Musical and 'BLISS' in 2008, Daasaru and 'Sant mela' in 2009 and 'Devadasi and the Saint' in 2010, 'Tamizh Isai Vizha' and 'A Carnatic Musical' in 2011. SYAMA's members accomplishments include performances at SAM for Music Box 2001, Kalautsavam '04 in Esplanade, Singapore Arts festival 03 and 04, as well as top prizes in the National Indian music competition 2000, 02 & 04 conducted by the National Arts Council, Singapore.
We regularly prepare Newsletters, which provide not just Arts news, but also basic arts education to conneiseurs and professionals alike.We frequently conduct free Artreach performances for the public, as part of Audience development programme.
SYAMA ACADEMY provides quality undiluted education in the areas of Carnatic music and Bharathanatyam. Our students have performed concerts in Singapore and abroad, have won top prizes in the National Indian music competition conducted by the National Arts Council, Singapore.
We are ideally located near the Little India Arts belt, which was developed by the National Arts Council with a vision of developing Singapore into a distinctive global city for the arts.

SYAMA was started as an informal forum of Singapore's young Indian classical musicians, in the year 2000. Registered in 2004 as a non-profit organisation under ROS, our objective is to grow Singapore into a vibrant city of arts, by involving youth actively.
